Is PokéLeague free to play?+
Yes — creating an account and playing in leagues is completely free. PokéCoins are an optional virtual currency for cosmetics and extras, but you can enjoy the full game without spending anything.
How is my score calculated?+
Each week, we pull live market prices for every card on your roster. Your score for that week is: ((current price − prior price) ÷ prior price) × 100 × 10. Points accumulate across the season — the Trainer with the highest total at the end wins. See the full breakdown on the Scoring Rules page.
When do scores update?+
Scores update every Monday morning automatically. You'll see your new weekly total on the League Rankings page after the update runs.
How long does a season last?+
Seasons run approximately 8 weeks. At the end of the season the final standings are locked and the winner is recorded in their League Hall of Fame.
Can I join more than one league?+
Yes — you can be in as many leagues as you like. Your dashboard groups them by status so you can keep track of all of them.
How do trades work?+
You can propose a trade with any other Trainer in your league after the draft is complete. Both sides offer characters; if the other Trainer accepts, the rosters swap immediately. Trades are locked if the league commissioner has closed the trade window.
What are PokéCoins?+
PokéCoins are PokéLeague's virtual currency. You can earn them by playing (scoring weekly points, completing achievements, participating in Flash Events) or purchase bundles. They're used for cosmetics like avatars, badges, and emotes — they have no real-world cash value and cannot be withdrawn.
What are DNA Shards and Glitchlings?+
DNA Shards are collectible fragments you earn from drafting, trading, and weekly scoring. Collect enough shards from different Pokémon and you can splice them together in the Splice-O-Matic 3000 to create a unique Glitchling — a chimera creature that's yours alone.
What is a Flash Event?+
Flash Events are limited-time challenges with special cosmetic rewards. They might ask you to complete a certain number of trades, draft a specific Pokémon, or hit a price-gain milestone — all within the event window. Check the Active Events tab in your Trainer Dex to see what's running.
What cards does each Pokémon track?+
Each character has a curated basket of their most-traded cards, weighted by era: vintage cards (Base Set era) count 2.7×, classic cards 1.6×, and modern cards 0.9×. This weighting reflects the market reality that older cards tend to be more valuable and volatile.
Is PokéLeague affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokémon Company?+
No. PokéLeague is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Nintendo, Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, or any of their subsidiaries. Pokémon and all related names are trademarks of their respective owners.
Is this financial or investment advice?+
No. PokéLeague is a fantasy trading game for entertainment purposes only. Card price data is used to power game scores — it is not financial advice and should not be used to make real purchasing or investing decisions.
